Cyprus and Malta adopts the Euro

AS of January 1, Cyprus and Malta adopted the euro. The Maltese lira and the Cyprus pound will remain in circulation until the end of the month. Commercial banks in Malta will exchange lira into euros free of charge until the end of March and Cypriot banks will allow the exchange of pounds free of charge until the end of June.

   

SOUTH African passport holders travelling to Angola will no longer need to apply for a visa.
This follows the signing of a Declaration of Intent by the Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC) today (November 21). The JCC will also sign an agreement for the promotion of tourism between the two countries.
